Upper ball joints

Can replacing the front upper ball joints be done by an inexperienced backyard mechanic. I read it would take about 4 hrs to do. Are there any special tools needed? Thanks

It can be done and yes a ball joint puller will be needed.

I've had really good luck with my OEM mopar joints, but if they end up being too pricey the premium NAPA joints would be my second choice. Just don't by the cheap ones, they probably won't take the abuse, make sure the new ones are grease-able.

Great thanks. Jeep and napa are close to me. Still debating on doing it myself though.

I used NAPA premium . I would do all 4 and be done with it though. You should use the correct press to remove and install them it isn't a lot of fun but think about how much money you will save . do some searchs on all of the Jeep Forums to learn as much as you can before hand . Ok. Different degree ball joints? What would I need for 3 1/2" lift? I'm confused.
