yj to tj doors

Thinking of buying some yj soft half doors from a friend who lives n anither state so I can't try them on my jeep. I'm wondering if they will fit a tj. Anybody know by chance if they will or not?

They should fit on there. People put YJ half doors on TJs with some changes to the strike pins. Do some google searches and you can find lots of threads!

The YJ striker pin is the same as the YJ/TJ tailgate striker pin. So you would need to convert over to that style.

Are these issues carried onto the soft halfs as well?

The latch difference is also based on tub so no difference hardtop vs soft top full vs half

The inside handle may not be an issue with 1/2 doors not sure

The round vs square corner door is an original top issue as original hard top have round corners like all tj doors but original soft top yj have square angle upper rear door corner

Not sure but think all hardtop yj had full door and all soft top yj had half door from factory as don't see how a full door with rounded corner could work with a factory original soft top designed for square corner door

Aftermarket tops for yj made both ways and aftermarket upper door half s made moth ways

Best top has a online video on yj round vs square doors

So it wouldn't be worth it if I want to run those half doors and still be able to run my tj full doors on the strike pin problem.

Maybe maybe not worth it but would be a little more involved then just sliding it onto the hinges

Also if you want an upper for half door top rear corner has to match opening in top that will be used
