12v power source

Looking for a 12 v power source which will be present even during cranking.

I have an 89 4.2 with a manual transmission. I installed the Howell TBI, the ECM requires current when the ignition key is in both the crank and run position.

Thanks

If you have a Factory Service Manual, there is a schematic under electrical troubleshooting. There is a page labeled "starting circuit" (or something close to that).
You will be able to see which wires are hot in both positions.

If you don't have a FSM, find a post by MudMagnetYJ and he has a link to several in his signature.

Good Luck, L.M.

I do have the factory service manual. I found under "Ignition switch" there is a 14 gauge wire which comes off the run/start position. I found it on the fuse panel under "ignition/Lmps" 15 amp. I did a fuse tap there, and it works perfect.
