37s with 4" Susp. Lift??

Hey guys, new member to the forum here. I got a '94 YJ, 4.0 with a 5 speed. Right now I got a 4" Rough Country suspension lift and stock axles and tires. I'll be swapping a Ford 8.8 in the rear with 4.10 gears and lsd, and a Dana 35 in the front, also 4.10s with lsd. I want to run 37" tires, but not sure if they'll fit or what else you'd recommend doing for supporting mods. Also I have removed the track bars and am working on custom sway bar disconnects.

A Ford 8.8 is barely adequate for 37's and even if it was 4.10 gears are not you would need 5.38's or lower

The only D35 front axle was TTB in the front of Ford Rangers do not even try to run 37's on the D30.

You will not fit 37's on a 4" lift

Stay with 33's unless you want to spend a lot of time and money

Even just for a high school parking lot, mall crawler, Main St cruiser. 37" will kill you or the Jeep or both. You wont be able to stop and you'll have to slip the clutch just to move it.

37's are great... you'll need dana 60's, 5.38 gears, and a LOT of cutting and fabrication....

For the stockish setup you describe stay w 33's

Stick with 33” tires especially with your choice of axles and gearing, for reason the others have stated. You’ll be happier and so will you YJ.

Welcome to the Forum YJ Ron,

The above advice is right. Unless you plan on spending a ton of dough the '37s will kill your clutch and your brakes.

Gottagofast states "37's are great... you'll need Dana 60's, 5.38 gears, and a LOT of cutting and fabrication...."
You could also use a LS conversion.

Stick with 33s or better yet, 31s. The 4.0 will like the 4:10 gears and 31" tires.

Good Luck, L.M.
