So first thing i checked was fuel and it squirted out so had pressure.. get home and i don't hear the fuel pump engaged and no fuel pressure at nozzle either . Fuel pump? It didn't give any indication of fuel problems just shut off all power

start by giving it a quick spray of starting fluid or carb cleaner to see if it'll start

You need to check the available fuel pressure with a fuel pressure gauge. Your Jeep needs a certain amount of fuel pressure to start. Just because you have "some" fuel pressure doesn't mean you have enough.

Good Luck, L.M.

I took fuel line off and had my daughter try to start it and and 0 fuel came out. And fuel pump definitely is not coming on i was under jeep..i switched relay fuse so its not that . Since i verified pump isnt working should i still do pressure check ? About 100% percent sure my fuel pump went out ...again.. less than 3000 miles on pump bit over a year because of deployment nice!! If it is fuel pump what fuel pump should i go with. not oreily parts for this guy anymore least not parts like this

I am just spit balling here....

You swapped fuel pump relay with the horn relay? If the ASD relay is bad, I think the fuel pump won’t activate, correct? Horn relay is easier to verify that it works.

Have you removed the inlet hose to the fuel filter and had your daughter crank it over while you verified fuel flow? I am imagining a clogged fuel filter might allow fuel flow while pressure is applied but once you pressed the shrader valve, maybe only pressure on the tank side is built up? Maybe that is why you can’t hear the pump.

I don’t know if this is even close, lol, but free advice isn’t always good advice.

Going through that whole "How do I decide where to get a new pump from" to
replace on my son's dodge ram. Mopar $355 plus tx. Amazon $39 and up. Somewhere in the Middle is good quality without the dealer markup. Pump module is in the tank and it's a pain to replace. So how much cash do I want to spend to make sure I'm not doing again in 3000 miles.

A couple hours into reviews and articles and I'm already up to $175-190 and still not overly sure I'll be getting something good enough to last another 10 years.

O'Reillys house brand was one I've ruled out, Swore off Autozone for anything with electrical or moving parts from past bad experience, looks like I'm heading down the Bosch or Denso road at $225+.

.I feel for you Brotha……..

So what are you going with now?
You can get the chrysler pump, 68001826AA, from Amazon for $115.

Do people still cut a hole in the tub floor for access like all the military vehicles have?

That's what I would do then cut the floor or pay a shop a couple bills with just the standard tail light warr.

Oh, and always keep at least a 1/4 tank in there

I do things myself because I want to see and replace things as I see that it needs it. For a fuel pump, I will probably clean everything off really well and replace all of the hoses and add wire insulators if I think It needs it. I will notice if the fill pipe hose needs replaced. Whatever it is, I will have a chance to make a decision. I have worked along side too many mechanics that say “it’s fine” and don’t even suggest anything more because that is not what they are getting paid to do. A fuel pump warranty doesn’t cover a vent hose or whatever.
A warranty doesn’t give me comfort if I am 20 miles into 4x4 country with zero phone coverage.

To each their own.

Here's a question and a possible solution to the fuel pump dilemma, would it be possible to use an aftermarket inline fuel pump with the correct pressure rating of course? The fuel tank is easy to drop but, a pain to get back in and really don't like the idea of cutting holes in the tub.

Bosch is the stock pump that drops in the tank and the best to use.

Here's a list of OBDI codes if you don't have it http://www.fixjeeps.com/obd-codes.html
