Talking My first forum question!

Long time Jeep lover, first time Jeep owner!
New member checking in here. I have 18 inch rims and tires off a 2016 Sahara. will they and what will be necessary to fit them on a 1993 Wrangler? I know i'll need spacers and if i'm measuring them correctly i'll be needing 4.5 on 5 adapting to 5 on 5. Am I correct in thinking the 93 wrangler bolt pattern is 4.5 on 5? Thanks for any help you guys can give us. We need to have this thing very road worthy and i mean ROAD WORTHY! we're moving to Belize in a month or so, pulling it by RV! We also need a new rear end Will it be easier to rebiuld the old one with seal and bearing kit or just replace the rear end? I've been eyeballing a newer early 2000 wrangler in my local wrecking yard and can be had cheap enough I believe. Blue Baby Sound likes this.

Welcome to the forum.

Yes your '93 is 4.5 on 5. I'll leave the discussion about your spacers and rear end to those who know much more than I...

Actually no it's 5 on 4.5.... lol
Most of us would suggest ditching the jk wheels and getting some 15" wheels that fit your tj correctly...

Rethink the 18s
Definitely rethink moving to Belize.

I tend to agree

Ha ha funny. No seriously though i tend to agree, stick with equipment made specifically for made model group. But I practically stole these things for $150. But I'm sure this will most likely to be the first of many bad decisions we're gonna make with our wrangler. lol I consider this to one of the minor ones. thanks for the partial confirmation too my questions

A pair of shoes that are the wrong size aren't a good deal...

Sell those 18" rims for a profit, buy some 15" rims that actually fit the bolt pattern. Tires will be cheaper, more availability, and ride smoother. The more sidewall with proper air pressure the smoother the ride.

2000 rear end will not fit.. you need one from another YJ.. might be cheaper to just buy a good condition used rear vs rebuild what you have.
