t case chain replace????

has anyone replaced the chain in their t case yet. I have a 231 np and need a new chain. Do you have to pull the whole case or can you do it without???? ANy help greatly apprec. cw

You should be able to do it with the case in the jeep. Might be a bit more cramped but it can be done. Do a search for SYE installs and you will get an idea of what your about to undertake.

I believe 4jeepn is correct. I don't think you have to pull it all the way out. You should be able to loosen it and get enough play to change it out.

Yeah, don't mess with taking it out. Jut a pain in the butt to get to those top bolts to the tranny. Be careful when prying them apart that you don't harm the case though.
