Hey everyone, just wondering if anyone has a preference on valve stem seals? I see felpro has a kit and that I can also buy them individually on Morris (crown). Any preference? TIA
If you're planning on sending your head to a machine shop, there are seals that require machining the area where the valve stem comes up through the head. The seals cost a bit more, but IMHO, they're worth the extra cost for the seals and the cost for the machining.
If you're interested I can look up the number.
My plan was to do the seals in place removing the springs and keepers for now. If it doesn’t solve my issues then I was going to do a head rebuild at some point.
If you end up having the head worked, I suggest these:
Valve Stem Oil Seal
Part # SEP ST2004BC
Product Line :
Sealed Power Engine Parts
Good Luck, L.M.
