NE area off-roading/trails/plans

I'm going to start this thread to post any RI, CT, MA etc trail runs we are having. This is what the Tacoma guys have and it works, so I'd figure I'd implement i here.

It's about 30 minutes from my house. If I am not working, I'll be there.
All depends upon the weather, we're calling for snow. Thanks

All the pictures and videos posted there and on page 296.

Not bad at all. Had a really good time. Most trails were closed but we still were out for a good 5 hours.

It was pretty adventurous. Snow makes the trails much more challenging and fun! Good times!

Hey guys, I'm going to spam a couple of our past event threads here to let you know I started a Meetup website for Wranglers. It's a great way to coordinate rides and get-together with long-term or short-term notice. Much better than the forums.

So please sign up and join us. Already some fun social events. Anyone is free to arrange a ride or meet-up!

Here's the link!

Off-Road Trails Jeep and Eat SATURDAY MARCH 4th
9:45AM Meet 10:00AM Depart for trail

We'll do a stock/semi-stock ride on the trails. A couple are closed this season, and most of it is little more than rough back country roads. If you've never been it's a good time.

There is a small gravel pit that has some fun hills. Plan is we'll pause for lunch on the trail if the weather is decent. I'll bring my small charcoal hibachi with dogs and burgers. I'll bring the chow and fixings; if you want a special snack , drink, or side, bring what you like!

CBs are good idea if you have one just to communicate.
Respond with preferred day and we'll see what works. Right now Saturday might be a better choice, but Sunday works too.

A couple great guys with Toyota Tacos will join us as well.

If you haven't signed up already, we've got a Meet-up site that you can RSVP, as well as track who's going, and future planned Jeep Events here:

We've got 3 Taco's from the Tacoma forum. It's going to be on the chilly side so we're bring some logs for the fire pit at the sand-pit-stop. Sign up on the meetup-site, or say something here so we can get a count for chow. Free grub, just add Jeep!

Hi Mike,
love the thread...I live in Hebron, CT (eastern) and will look forward to future meet ups.
This Saturday, the Jeep is getting operated on. (285's and a 2.5 inch lift). Woohoo!
After that, will be looking forward to the next events.

Also, wife and I are driving down to JeepBeach in Daytona end of April. Should be an epic trip.
See you soon!

That's my lift/tire mix. REALLY happy with the combination. I did 285 70/17 KO2s and they work amazing. I've got 3.73 gears and at 75-80 on the highway I cruise smooth and pretty quiet at about 2200-2300 RPM.

Make sure you sign up at
https://www.meetup.com/Southern-New-England-Wranglers/

so you can check out all the long-term events (and put forth your own!). We'll still publish them here, but it's nice to plan and have a method of tracking folks as well as posting after-action pictures.

My wife and I considered Jeep Beach but we're doing Bantam in PA in June. Next year Jeep Beach or The NJ beach Jeep festival.

We're also planning to do/coordinate a few day trans-New Hampshire trip (Canada-Massachusetts) with Exploring New Hampshire. We may do the guided tour in the summer and then lead the same one in the fall. Or just encourage folks to join us for the guided tour(s). More on that later!

Cool!
I have a 6 speed manual.. although my gears are wimpy..321.
I do tow a popup camper and would be great to take it to New England events.

I've own this Jeep for about a year (I had an 08), this is a 12.
Just getting done with the first set up upgrades...
- New Head Unit and Polk Speakers
- Premium Soft top (pick up here on the forum)
- New tires and lift this weekend...

That's all I'm allowed this year :-) Trying to push it with LEDs..LOL. we'll see.

Catch you soon!

Don't think I'll be able to make it either, have some things to get done on the jeep first this weekend. Sounds like an awesome time though, sad to miss it. Have fun all!

Should be fun (and cold). We've got the grill packed and a bunch of extra firewood, so when the Jeep's furnace of a heater is keeping us warm, the campfire should.

The count right now stands at four or five Jeeps and three or four Tacos.

I'd say sadly no. About as far west we'd likely go for something "social and casual" would be the eastern 1/4 of Connecticut. Having said that, if there was some great event, or really nice ride, I think a couple hours each way for at least as much off-road would be worth it. Conn is such a pain as 95 SUCKS to go east/west and the rest of the routes are not very direct.

But anything is possible so if you have ideas, shoot away!

If anyone is interested, there is a run at "the RI spot" this Sunday April 23. 10:00am roll out.

Stock/Semi-Stock friendly. We should be grilling on the trail for lunch too.
