There are many trails at Uwharrie. Wolfs Den and Falls Dam are two beginner fun trails that can be done stock or basically stock. Check out videos on YouTube of them and you get a better idea.

I was going to post the same thing about the weather! Should be nice and cool once we get into the trees.

I did have a question though. Is that the meet time or roll out time (9am)?

We might have up to 15 jeeps in our groups, so I'll catch up with you all later.

There are still groups going to Uwharrie but our small one that was to meet tomorrow at Bojangles isn't meeting now. There will be many down there however.

havent posted in a while, but i figured i'd pass this news along to those curious about it....i had about an hour to kill monday night and hit up page rd. solo after work. i think the trail's days may be numbered. there was a backhoe sitting beside the entrance and throughout the trail a ton of surveyor stakes and some signs that looked like ATT was laying fiber lines. Not sure what it all means, but it definitely looks like potential development to that area.

if you want to hit it up, i would do it sooner rather than later. for those that have been out there, the one BIG mud hole on the single track path heading towards the lake is completely gone, I'm guessing they graded it out for trucks to get through. The other good sized hole right at the turn on the way back to page rd. is still there. It was soupy out there but fun. I took it easy since i was solo this time around.

Anybody have any other spots in the triangle that have popped up?

Hello all!!! I just moved from Nova down to Wake Forest and need to find a Jeep friendly shop where i can get my JKU inspected. Any suggestions??

I like getting my Jeep as dirty as possible, always looking for fellow explorers to ride with.

Don’t know of other spots but if you’re willing to help a rookie go offroad for the first time (nothing too crazy to start), let me know and I’ll come check it out!

When I check out new spots, I always like to stop and mark the location on google maps so I remember where "Insert Expensive Part Here" broke.

Check out the coordinates below....and I'll go ahead and save some of you "But are these trails legal?" people some time......Answer: probably not.

I've been to these 2 places recently (within past 2 months)
- 35.737290, -78.565889 AKA ("The Rock")
- 35.93371306146582, -78.54244418953414
- 35.660090, -78.603439 (wouldn't recommend hitting this spot solo)

Been to these a while back but going today at lunch.
- 35.877261, -78.855289
- 35.850164,-78.860035

RIP This used to be an awesome spot.

Hi Everyone,

I've got a few accessories left over I'm parting out. If your interested in a set of grab handles (4x of them) or an off road stubby antenna let me know. The handles are $30 and the antenna is $10.

wow, thank you!!! Is the rock in use as a quarry or construction site? Looks huge! I am going to have to check some of these out. I think I've seen a video or two from the oregon trail spot, deep water if i am thinking of the same place. I am guessing that is why you label don't go alone?

Yes, I'm one of those who will ask about legality.

As a community, while we really would like to wheel and push our vehicles, if it's not on something that's legal, we shouldn't be doing it.

Tread Lightly, which is a principle we should be embracing, isn't about trespassing on private land, it's land use responsibly, leave things better than before and share the land.

Wheeling on private land, unless you have the owners permission, is wrong. Encouraging others to do the same is bad and will end up getting many other areas shut down. We all get the reputation based on a small number of people.

The rock is not in use for anything other than trail riding from what I can tell. It looks like initial planning for a neighborhood was started but then abandoned. It's pretty wide open in some spots. I've taken my 2 girls (4 and 6) out there with me. There are tons of rocks for them to climb on and places to explore.
This video (https://youtu.be/jCP0eRjf5x0) is a short clip of whats out there.

I've only been to a small part of the oregon trail spot. From what I saw, I wouldn't go it alone.

Went out to the page road spot yesterday and the flags I saw in the ground were for ATT. I don't believe that it will be shut down. If you've never been to this spot, here is a taste of what's out there.
Video is from last year https://youtu.be/hP8NVDnLkPw.

Quick Update
35.877261, -78.855289 is no longer an option.

So, you are still advocating using the land illegally?

Page Rd is private land with utility easements. If you didn't get the land owners permission, you shouldn't be there. Period. You certainly shouldn't be advocating other use it either.

Sorry that you might get butt hurt but if it was my land, I would be highly pissed.

You want to wheel? Go to Uwharrie, Patriot Mountain, Hills Backyard trail (make arrangements first), Broken Nut or Lake Houser for places in NC.
