Badlands 12-21-2019

A week just after a couple inches of snow, we nearly had the whole place to ourselves. We spent a bit of time in the rocks just off the White trail:

The view from the cab through this rock section, which is really fun for Jeeps that don't have a ton of lift or really oversize tires.

We're from Urbana-Champaign, so only an hour's drive over to the Badlands. Since you're in Batavia, you should join up with Windy City Jeep Force, they go here every so often and it's a great group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1228620363877459

I'm in St Charles. My jeep is finished (for now) and I'm just waiting for the right day to head there. I might give the cliffs a try too. I'm not a facebooker so I miss meeting up with these guys a lot

Of course, to get to the rocks on White you first have to venture down the White Trail, so here it is:

We then started to venture down into the creek trail, where we began to find a lot more ice:

The ice continued on the east side of the creek trail, and then we made our way in the snow to the quarry:

Once we made it to the quarry, we tried a few of the usual obstacles, but the most interesting challenge was a shaded spot where the snow still covered a hill with an undercut.

And to wrap it up, we blasted through some icy traps on the way out, and even had to pull the winch!
