please help me out here, i have a guy locally that wanted to buy my block from my 89 YJ with 258 4.2L but he backed out because he said he wasnt sure if it would swap over to his CJ-5 with 258. a buddy of mine here in town told me that all the 258's are the same block.

would my 89 258 block swap into an older CJ-5 no problems and bolt everything from his to my block??

everything i know would say it should.

my research so far has taught me that before 71 the 258 had a different casting and the newer ones were lighter and better... but thats about all i got. everything points to swapping them out.
