16" or 17 " ?

I have settled on rims and tires(I think). Now I don't know what size to get, 16" or 17". My 2012 Wrangler currently has 17", not that it really matters. I will NOT have it lifted.

Option 305/70R16) Tires weigh 63lbs, wheel weighs 23 lbs for a total weight of 86lbs. diameter=32.8, width=12". Total price $387/each.

Option 285/75R16) Tires weigh 58lbs, wheel weighs 23lbs for a total weight of 81 lbs. diameter=33.1, width= 11.3". Total price $343/each.

Option 285/70R17) Tires weigh 53lbs., wheel weighs 26lbs for a total weight of 79 lbs. diameter=32.8, width 11.5". Total Price $334/each.

Concerned the 16" wheels will look OK?

Kevin

The census I have found with Jeep wheels is the smaller you can go with proper fit the better. It gives the tire more sidewall shown which enhances the look of the entire Jeep. Just my 2 cents. I currently have 16" and am thinking of going to 15".

Interesting the note the fattest/heaviest tire is the cheapest.
