17" instead of 18"

Can I put 17 inch JKU wheels on a Sahara that has 18 inch wheels? if so, then I need to find some black 17 inch JKU wheels. Are both Jeeps 5x5?

Yes, there are no differences in the suspension at all. They are both the same spec except the 17" to 18" wheel size.

Are you looking for factory take offs or aftermarket?

Probably factory take offs. It's my friend's Sahara. He wants black wheels like I have. I believe they are hard rock wheels.

Check out the Quadratec Hard Rock wheels. They are available in multiple color combinations and they are wider and have a better back spacing for larger tires. A very desirable upgrade.

The previous owner of my JK Sport put some blingy 18" Sahara wheels on it. I did not care for them much. A friend gave me his stock 17" Rubicon wheels off of his JLUR. I like them much better. No problems. I put them on the 1.5" wheels spacers I had to buy for the Sahara wheels.

I wish I would have know, I just sold my factory Hard Rocks with tires.. That said, You can buy 17" wheels on here and their is always a good set for a good price. I wouldn't bother getting new.. For instance I just sold mine and they had absolutely no scratches at 27,000 miles.

A heads up, if you change the wheel, that means you're changing your tires. If your tire size changes you will have to re-calibrate. Not a big deal, just want you to have all the information.

Good luck,

Jeff B.

Hey there,

Yes both are 5x5 bolt pattern. You can put the 17s on instead of the 18s. You will also need to get new tires as well.

Here is a link to all of the wheels that we offer:

https://www.quadratec.com/categories/jeep_wheels/alloy_wheels

There are so many different options for wheels. Just choose the 17 from the left hand side.

Here is a link to the Quadratec Hardrock wheels:

We also have a wheel and tire builder that you can build you own mounted and balanced with TPMS sensor combo:

Have a great day,
Hailey
