They look a lot like Toyo MT's. Are they supposed to last like the Toyos? I'm running 35x12.5x18's right now. Wanting to switch to the 295/70/18. Are they really 34 inched tall & 11.5 wide?? Nitto is the only manufacture to make this size that I know of. Is that correct?
Those Trail Grapplers look like amazing tires.
Thanks

Just replied to your question regarding the Trail Grappler in the other thread.

Per Nitto, the 295/70-18 Trail Grappler is 34.5" tall and 11.73" wide

For those who may not know already, Nitto is owned by Toyo and the two companies share tire technology.

Perhaps that is why this tire looks so similar to the Toyo MT. So these tires are the real deal A?

Thanks for your info. They will be going on when these wear out.

The Nitto Trail Grappler is very similar to the Toyo Open Country M/T. The Trail Grappler however, has newer tire technology built in so IMO, is the better tire when being compared straight across, dollar for dollar.

Toyo's are awesome in my opinion, so this coming from you makes me feel quite good about the Nitto's. They are more reasonably priced that's for sure.

So is it better to order direct from you or just go down to the local Discount store? I wont need new wheels, just rubber. Just looked it up. 10 bucks cheaper to have them shipped to house.

Thanks again for putting up with my multiple posts, lol.

Our local stores are very good about matching on-line delivered prices so I suggest contacting your closest store to see what they can do for you.

You'll really like the Trail Grappler. Good pick!

Tire Cost - Help Discount Tire!

Discount Tire - can you PM a price to have the tires shipped to my home?

I am looking to go a little taller than the stock 255/75/17 - I have no lift and do not want to lift - maybe level if I have too - can I put a 265 or 285 under her without a lift? how much taller and wider will I get?

I would like to get a price on the Nitto Trail Grappler (sweet looking tire) I would need 5 of them - shipped to the door.

I have after market wheels these will be going on - they are the Ultra Drifter 17X8 -10MM off set - so currently these bring the stock tire out even with the fenders - looks nice

OH.. zip code is 64034

The Trail Grappler is still a little limited on the number of sizes that are built. I would imagine Nitto will be building additional sizes this year (hopefully in a 285/70R17 ~ 33" tall). With a mini lift on your JK I would recommend looking at the 295/70R17 size. This size is about 34.5" tall. You'll need the mini lift to keep them from rubbing. This is the next larger size up from your stock tire.

Here's a link to our mail order price. Shipping to OH is FREE. If you call in your order of 5 tires we'll give you $50.00 off your total instantly.

Ratings, reviews and specifications for Nitto Trail Grappler M/T tires

If you didn't want to install a lift you could run the Trail Grappler in your stock size: http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...yp=Truck%2FSUV

I would recommend speaking with your local Discount Tire store (if you have one in your area) They can offer you a higher level of customer service than anyone can online and in-store purchased do come with some added services that aren't included online (free rotations, free flat repair, free pro-rated road hazard warranty.)

Yes, the MB Chaos does come in a 5x114.3 for your TJ. They come in 15, 16 and 17" sizes, in two different offsets/backspaces. Here's a link to all the sizes that are available, give us a call if we can help you with the specifics: Find MB Wheels Chaos 5 custom wheels by size

Nitto trail grappler sizing

Discount Tire,

I have a similar question. I will be coming home from Iraq in a couple of weeks and plan to purchase a 2012 JKU. To run the 295/70/17 tires, would I just need to get a 2" body lift for them to turn without worrying about rubbing? Also, will that size fit on the stock Sport S rims? I am a tire novice for sure....

The 295/70-17 size will work with stock suspension but the factory wheels have to high an offset and will rub. You'll want to pick up a wheel with a lower offset/backspace. 17x8.5 ET-6 (4.5" BS) is a popular choice
