17x8

What's the biggest tire anyone has put on 17x8 wheels? Lots of conflicting info out there.

Well. I guess I didn't want a specific answer. But I'll try to explain better. Will 33x12.5 fit. Will 285-70-17 fit? Some manufacturers info says they will others won't. Is there really that much difference within the same siZe tires from one manufacturer to another? Trying to take my time and pick a slightly larger tire with a 2" lift. And still enjoy the ride of my DD which shouldn't be an issue because I heart my JK VERY MUCH!

I run 285/70/17. I am going to put flat fenders on to give a little more room in the back. With 17 X 8 wheels. They ride good and don't rub unless I do some serious flexing.

You have to get aftermarket wheels or spacers for stock wheels since the stockers have too much backspacing. The point I was getting at is that you haven't said if you meant stock wheels or aftermarket... There can be pretty big discrepancies between manufacturers regarding the actual size of the tires. So that is something to consider as well. With proper bs, and no lift, you will probably have to adjust the steering stops, which is easy and cheap, less than a buck, and you may rub offroad, but probably be ok on road.

Sorry. I never mentioned anything about stock wheels but I guess I forgot to mention at all. Procomp 7089 wheels 17x8. Does anyone have 33x12.5 on 17x8s? Any issues? All the numbers with this wheel/tire stuff make my head hurt.
