33's and mpg

Anyone has an idea or experience on how much mpg is lost when moving to 33's. If you use the procal module to get it back to or as close to stock using 33's, what was your experience on this too?

I'm planning on getting 33's but if mpg suffers a lot I rather invest into a smaller size tire, yet aggressive. This way It won't cost me that much plus I wont expend extra on the gas pump. My calculations for what I want with the 33's are close to 4k.

BTW, I have a 4 door 2011 JK.

33's shouldn't affect your mileage that much on a JK... Depends on your gears and what size tire you are set up for stock. Our Rubi with the stock 32's got 20 on the highway last weekend, doing 70-80 for 600 miles...

Oh! By the way. What would be best for off roading and regular day to day use in terms of weight and quality? An alloy wheel or aluminum wheel?

Aluminum will be the lightest weight.

You'll love your Duratracs, join Tread Lightly - Home and get a $100 rebate on them... The site might say it's expired, but the form should say it's good through 12/2011...

Actually I lost 2 mpg, well 3 mpg and Superchips got 1 back. One of the reasons that Jeep uses the 32's they use is because they are so light weight and just about any decent tire you buy for the trail adds unwanted weight which kills the MPG's very fast
