7 or 8 inch wheel width?

I am planning on getting 33x10.50R15 tires for my 2001 Wrangler Sport (TJ).
I am thinking about 15x7 wheels. I'll save backspacing for another time.
I hear the narrower the rim the more the tire sidewall balloons out. The wider the rim the more square it looks.
I like the ballooned out look, I just wonder if there are any negatives going this route.

You can run them on either 8 or 7s I am pretty sure. What do you mean you will "save backspacing for another time?" Backspacing, in most cases, is what is gonna determine if you rub or not at full lock

Find your tires first..... 33x10.5's are hard to come by.... And ditto what Cons said, buy the wheel that you can use with the most tire sizes (15x8) 4.5-3.75" bs, and you can worry about tire sizes later....

I'm mainly thinking about how the sidewall will look. After that I will worry about backspacing. However I do like the advice of buying a rim that works with most tire sizes in case I go with a different tire later on.

You need to worry about backspacing before you buy your new wheels. Dont buy a wheel, then worry about backspacing. You will be better off getting the wheel you want, and the backspacing you need in one purchase.

As far as a 7" wheel versus an 8" wheel, I kind of doubt you will see much difference between the two with a 10.5" tire mounted on them.

Yep.... But finding that 10.5" tire will still be a challenge... I think.
