Backspacing question

I've searched the forums but I couldn't get a definite answer, so here it goes. I want to replace my stock cheapo rims with these http://www.acmejeepparts.com/product..._02XX_B_PG.htm . My question is what is the correct amount of backspacing? I am running 31x 10.5 x 15 tires and have no plans to go any bigger.

Well I've been researching rims too. My stock 15x8 canyons have 5.5" of back spacing. My left front rubs but I've shimmed up my turn stops. I would go with a min of 4.0" in an upgrade with 31" tires. If you want to go bigger in tires you'd need min 3.75". Take a look at Summit Racing. They have what your looking for, less expensive and shipping is only like $16!!!! I found a set of black Cragers with them for about $210 shipped.

4" bs will be more than enough for 10.5" tires. Mine had 10.5's on stock Canyons when I got it, and they didn't rub at all, but each tire varies in actual width, which would explain JonM's rubbing... With 4" bs you can fit up to a 12.5" tire easy...

So 15 x 7 or 15x 8 with 4in of backspacing should work with my 31x10.5x15 tires? Thanks

I would do min 15x8 rim if u are going with 31's. Plus later u can go up to 33's if wanted.

If you know for a fact that you will not upgrade you tire size in the near future, the correct rim choice for a 10.5 tire is a 15x7. You'll hold a better bead with a 15x7.

Would 3.5" backspacing be too much on my 06 tj. Just a thought I like a certain wheel and that's what they have in the 15x8s but I wanted to make sure it wasn't going to be too much.

It's a 2" diff over stock. Tires will stick out 2" past your fenders. I don't like it when they stick too far out plus mine is a DD and don't want too much road crud getting kicked back on others.

Just to clarify, the smaller number of back spacing, the further the tires will stick out?
