Beadlocks on the highway?

I really like beadlock wheels and would like to put them on my 12 JK but they say not highway use. Is this true? Why can't you use them on the highway? I know that some say 25 psi only but some don't. I wold think they would be safer then non beadlocks.

Not for highway use means that they haven't been DOT approved . Nothing more .... Basically if you have a highway speed accident and it is because of the wheels you have no way of suing the company .

If you want beadlock looks there's plenty of fake beedlock wheels out there. There are a few dot approved beadlock rims out there. The brandnames are excapeing me a the moment but I'm sure google can help.

As far as beadlocks on a DD go. I wouldent do it for 2 reasons.
1. Weight, beadlocks weight a lot more then your standard rim and can cause fuel economy issues, steering issues, and brakeing issues.

2. For a set of 4 rims. There's a ton of nuts that need to be torqued properly. And you should or need to make sure they stay torqued properly. Lots of maintance for me.
