Brand New Kenda Klever RT

I found this tire in the Kenda display at Overland Expo West. They told me it will release in about 30 days. I saw lots of tires at the Expo, this was the most impressive.

In speaking with Kenda, it was apparent that they were shooting for the best all around tire possible. There was heavy emphasis on mud performance, rock crawling traction and even lowest possible road noise.

IĀ’m having trouble uploading pictures, but fourwheeler has a set on their Tacoma up here. IĀ’ll get photos up when I can. ItĀ’s very aggressive looking and appears big for its size...

Looks good with the 3-ply sidewall and plenty of sipes. If it really has a softer compound it will be a winner for my kind of Az rocks and trails.
Comanche likes this.

Man, I'm on the market for some new tires. I had the Kenda Klever M/T's and they were amazing. Very little road noise; great in snow, mud, and rock crawling. I can't wait to see these in person.

reminds me of ko2s with bigger voids between the lugs and an old school sidewall. I love my ko2s for my 70 mile daily commute but it seems that every time I go off-roading the off-road park gets 2” of tain the night before so these may make sense for me. Since I drive 70 miles a day I would need to see what milage people are getting out of them, I’m not like some of the other members who can get new tires with every oil change.

Side lugs sort of look like a Duratrac, center lugs look like a variety of other tires. May be a decent all purpose tire.

I just went with the Milestar Patagonia for this reason. Seems like it works for all occasions.

Actually, this tire looks most like the Nitto R/T. But it's all going to come down to price. I ran the Kenda Klever M/T and they were a good tire and very rugged, but they were heavy and they were loud as hell on the highway. I ended up selling them because I couldn't hack the noise on my 1 hour trips daily.

If they price this tire low enough, it'll be a great option.

The voids are larger than most A/T's... Shouldn't trap rocks in the tread. The sidewalls are more aggressive and bold in person than in the pictures. They had them on a Tacoma that they claim had 35k miles on them. Tread depth was still at 50% or more.

Very interested in this tire.

Due to the addition of a bunch of interesting sizes, this tire is getting some attention from the Jeep crowd. They have a new 33x10.5x17 for the smaller body Jeeps and a 35x10.5x17 for the larger body Jeeps (JK and JL). Not that you can't use those on a small body Jeep, it just takes more lift, etc. This adds a new tire to compete with the popular 285/75-17 for those that like a narrower tire and looking for a 35" height.

Appears to be, yes. The specs seem to match up to their 33" tire.
