General grabber red letter

I am thinking about getting the 33/12.50x17 tires for my jeep. I only found 1 thread that mentions them. Has anyone had any experience with these tires. Thanks.

Sorry my bad I just noticed that I left out the general grabber red letter tires in my first thread. I only mentioned it in the title ,Lack of sleep I guess. I was looking for opinions on these tires specifically. Sorry for the mixup .I am a newb but I always try to search before I ask a question. I searched and there were only 4 threads on this and only 1 good opinion about them. I guess they are still new. Thanks.

One of my co-workers has a set on his FJ. He said he noticed the weight difference but thought they rode pretty well on the street and highway. He hasn't put a lot of trail use on them yet but plans to at the FJ Summit event this year in Colorado. I'll get a more formal review from him after that.

Let us know if we can help you with a set. I'm sure there are a few others out there that would be interested in your review.

I was considering these tires, the research I did showed them to be pretty good tires, however we could not find them, I needed 33 X12.50 17 everywhere we looked, they were on back order. I finally gave up after reading some other posts about problems with the red letters.

Well, it's between those or the Mastercraft Courser MT's. I have read a few things about the Coursers but can't find anything on the Grabber.

I also wonder how well those red letters hold up. I have a red jeep so that is what caught my attention in the first place.

Kbwwolf posted some good links above. You might want to check them out. There's a few guys in my office that have run the Red Letters and they have had nothing bad to say about them.

Unless you have a habit of grinding your tires against really tall curbs, I'd think the red letters would last awhile.

Remember, you can get a $100 mail in rebate on the Duratracs by joining TreadLightly.org. Though, that might not work if you have already placed your order for the tires. The date on the receipt probably has to be after your membership to TL begins.

I have had a set of General Grabber 31's on my 1998 TJ for almost 2 years now. They provide a quiet, smooth ride for a mud tire. They do good in rain, mud and snow. They are wearing really well. I would recommend them. You can't go wrong with the Duratracs either.
