Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac - 33X12.50R15LT

Alright I think I found the best possible deal on these tires but now I'm obviously going to need some wheels. What is the exact size wheel needed to mount these on with proper backspacing? Is this an odd size wheel to find or are these the size everyone else 33's are? I'm probably just looking for some cheap stealies or maybe something nicer if I can find a good price. After buying tires I'm not looking to spend more than $450 on wheels.

I currently have 31" general Grabber AT2s on the stock TJ wheel (2003 X)

You'll want 15x8 inch rims with around 4in of bs.. cragar soft 8's are the popular choice among cheap steel rims.. something like 55 bucks a rim. nothing odd about a 15x8 inch wheel.. extrememly popular and common in the Jeep world

Stay away from spacers.. they are bad news.. Spidertrax wheel spacers are a last resort thing that should be avoided at all costs

What is throwing me off is the tire size 33x12.50x15 compared to the rim size 15x8. I dont understand the 12 inch wide tire matching the 8 inch rim measurements. I admit I am not the most knowledgeable here and this may be a dumb question, sorry.

Knee's the thought of a 10in wide rim should never cross your mind unless you don't plan to never air down or are running a tire 13+ inches in width

Everyone talks bad about spacers if you take care of them you'll be fine. Not everybody wants to look like every cragar soft 8 equipped jeep out there. You'll be hard pressed to find a reasonable priced aftermarket wheel that's as quality as factory.

You definitely don't want the same width tire as wheel. I'm pretty sure that a 12.50 wide tire can be mounted on an 8-10" wheel, many prefer the 8" wide wheel because it can sustain lower pressures and not lose a bead.

I'm looking at this tire as well Best deals I've found thus far are Discount Tire Direct for $194 and Firestone has them for $175.

Anyone found a better deal anywhere?

I got mine from Discount tire with their $50 discount, Goodyear $40 rebate, and tread lightly's $100 discount and netted $155/tire I think.

Yep that's right. Exactly what I did. Love the tire by the way.

I was looking at this too. But what's so terrible about spacers ? They seem really common here.

Yep, that's what my math is showing for 5 tires. Didn't think about the TL discount....I'll sign up w/ them shortly.

Discount tire's listing on the vendor page says they have the lowest prices guaranteed. I've already contacted them telling them I found them on Firestone's site for less.

Hopefully I can get them at the firestone price, plus all of the other discounts.

I'll let you know what I find out.

A question about TL discounts...how to you apply them during purchase? Is it something you have to do over the phone?

I figured out how the TL rebate works....just signed up for my membership.

A note to other: The Goodyear TL rebate ($100) is good until Dec 31. The GoodYear company rebate ($40) is good until Dec 3. And the Discount Tires instant rebate ($50) is good until November 28th.

Most of those rebates "expire" then the same deal pops up the next day valid for the next year. You can get $50 of from DTD just by mentioning WF regardless.

Sears has them for $185 each so here's my math: TL rebate, GY rebate and the fact that if you buy the tires on black Friday hours you get a $100 sears card

After all I'm paying $525 each I think it was

My math for that is showing $137 each (for 5) assuming you order at their tire center and don't have to pay anything for shipping.

That sound correct?

Gaahh obviously not $525 each that was my total for four, assuming I'm allowed to use that seats card in the transaction

My total was for 5. Even if you can't use the card in the transaction, which is likely the case. It's still $100 that can be spent on something else (albeit at Sears).

Either way I'd still consider it a discount.

I've got $185 each, $75 TL ($100-$25 fee to join), $40 GY, $100 Sears (implying I am allowed to use it towards my transaction) and for four tires I end up with $131 each. Perhaps I'll be able to heckle them into dealing down a fifth tire too.

This may not be news to you, but I just found out that if you I order both my wheels and tires from DTD, that they'll come mounted and aired. Tack in the free shipping and the savings on mounting, I may end up going w DTD just for the convenience.

I liked the Cragars for price (around $50 for 15s), but wasn't sure if they'd fit as I was told some 15s don't fit without grinding the calipers. I also wasn't keen on the MB72s since I didn't want to follow the crowd, but do like the idea of going w/ a proven approach.

Cragars are very popular.. Only reasons I can think to avoid them are that you would not want the weight of a steel rim. and that if your into rocks steel wheels can bend from being bashed on a rock.. That is really it for down falls to a steel rim that I can think of..

The 15 inch cragars are one of the rims that fit the JK without issue..

I picked mine up on Summitracing.com for $106. each. I ordered 15x8 with a -22mm offset. These tires are the Duratrac 33 12.50 15

When I drop my son off at school I make a u-turn into the opposing lane at full crank and they clear just fine. I did however have to trim my flares a little on the bottom edges. Pictured is w/a 4" Suspension lift.
