Interco Tire Question

Just bought and received a set of 35x16r15 TSL Boggers. Took a tape measurer to the tires and discovered that they measure a little less than 33.5" in diameter and 14" in width sidewalk to side wall. Called up Interco to talk about it. They say that as soon as I mount the tire on the proper wheel and fill it up to its recommended pressure it will stretch to its specified diameter and width of 35.2" and 15.3" respectively. The proper wheel size is 15x12 which is what I have. I feel like it's kind of a stretch, no pun intended, that a tire is gonna change in size that much by mounting it on the wheels and airing it up.

If I mount the tire I can't return it. MY QUESTION IS...

Has anyone experienced this with any of the super swamper/tsl/bogger tires? Is this really true?

All Swampers are kind of weird in general. I had a set of 33 14.50 15 Sts' that measured dead on at 33.5 when mounted and on the Jeep. However, I also had a set of Thornbirds same size tire but was 31.5 mounted and on the Jeep. From my personal experience and others that I wheel with, the bias plys tend to run a little small, while the radials are fairly true with the exception the old TSL radial. All the tire measurements are taken when the tire is mounted on the manufactures recommend rim size, then inflated to max air capacity only, not mounted to a vehicle.
