Local wheel store

It's amazing how ignorant some people are or maybe how ignorant they think you are.

I am in the market for some new wheels. I've been looking for awhile and I have it narrowed down to a few different wheels but I am still open to suggestions. So I went to my local shop to see what they had and at what price. I walked in and the only wheel he wanted to show me for some reason was a black American racing wheel for $190. I told him that was more than I would like to spend and told him I would like to stay around the $150 to $160 range. And he proceeded to tell me that he didn't sell cheap wheels like that because he had too many problems with them. I said fine I'll go somewhere else.

I went to my other local shop and told him what I got and what I needed. He told me the only wheel (with a few exceptions) that i could pick from was a brand called ultra. He told me that because my jeep had a 5 on 5 bolt pattern that my options were very limited, especially in a 17". He said "Now if you move up to a 18", your options would be a lot better." Wow! Needless to say I walked away from that one too.

I really wanted to buy from a person instead of someplace online. But now I think that is my only option. Sorry I just had to rant a little.

Have you checked out summit racing. From what I've seen they have the beat prices for what I was looking for and shipping was free or really inexpensive.

Or you can give discount tire a try. They have the best of both worlds. You can buy online or go to one of their many stores. The have some in OKC.

If they sold Mickey Thompson, they would be the only place I would buy my wheels and tires.

Jeep Wrangler Accessories such as Jeep tops, winches, fender flares from manufactures such as BesTop, Rugged Ridge, ARB, OR Fab, Rampage and Smittybilt will give you wonderful pricing on wheels, tires and anything else you need. I have purchased several things from them including our KMC Addicts for the JK....

That's a great site with lots of wheels. Thanks for the link I will add it to my fave's.

A word of caution for those shopping for wheels there though. They list all the wheels made with what looks like a never updated website. Many of the wheels they show are no longer made or are on indefinite back order, aka you will never get them.
Send an email asking for stock availability or lead time before putting them in your basket and ordering. Wait to get an email back from them before you get all excited that you found the wheel you have been searching forever for
Just tiring to save some people from disappointment .
