Looking for different wheels - lug pattern? Suggestions?

have a 2012 Rubicon Unlimited - want to get wheels for it but I don't know what to look for. Any help would be great - I am new at all this.

Thank you all - kj

You want a 5x5 lug pattern (also called 5x127 on sites that use metric). For new rims, look for backspacing of 4.5" or less. The smaller the number, the more your tires will stick out from the Jeep.

A lot of folks (and I'm one of em) go with smaller diameter rims, usually 15" or 16", to save both weight and $$. A set tires and 15" rims will cost you less than tires alone for 17" rims.

Only thing to watch out for with 15" rims is fitment. Most of the alloys in 15" will fit over your Jeep's brake calipers, but a lot of the 15" steel rims won't.

Best bet is to check with the guys at Discount Tire Direct via PM (they're a forum vendor) or phone. They'll tell you what fits and what doesn't.

15 inch rims on a JK
