Mickey Thompson Sidebiters thoughts?

Looked on MT website and really liking the style of the MT Sidebiters, didn't know if anyone has them or any opinions? I know they make killer tires but uncertain about their 4x4 wheels.

Thanks for your time.

They make very good rims as well. I have been running the classic II for about 5 years now. The only problem I ever had with it was the machined face was hard to keep clean. But that is the case with ANY machined face wheel.
I had them powder coated black and really like them.
The sidebiter is one of the 3 rims I have been thinking about getting to replace my Classics. I even had a couple member here send me their thoughts and pics of them on their Jeep. Both had nothing but good things to say about them.
If they made them in a 16 or 17 I would already have them on the Jeep. But of the three wheels I am looking at they are the only 15" wheel and I really prefer to run a 16 or even 17.
When I get home from work this after noon I will post up the pics the guys sent me if you would like?

I am looking at the Sidebiter in 17 x 9... They also make them in 16's. Heres the exact one I am looking at.

And yes, I would love to see the pics. Thanks again.

Nice! How do you like them? Are they holding up well to off-roading (flaking, scratches, etc..)

Thanks!

Like my good friend Tony the Tiger says....."they'rrrrreeee great!". No issues for me, I only do mild trail ridings no real rock climbing and have had no issues. They are real easy to clean too.

Ah you got a JK. The only sizr you can get with your 5x5 bolt pattern is the 17x9. For the TJ the only size we can get is 15".

I'll transfer the pics up to a photo bucket account and post them up.

I was about to start a similar thread. I really like these rims as well. wondering if I will need new flares. think BS is 3.5? will they stick out? (want them to stick out a little bit and I want to change my flares) I am planning on running 31in mud terrain tires. I have a TJ. Debating between these and the soft 8's

The backspace on the MT's is 3.3" so they are going to stick out. I would stay away from any steel wheel.
An alloy wheel looks better, is stronger, looks better, wont rust like a steelie, wont bend like a steelie will and it looks better then a steel wheel

Sidebiters? Not sure about them, I just had some MT Baja MTZ radials put on (33's) & the ride is SMOOTH!!! I've gone through 2 sets of Procomp, they wore very well. People I know say that Dick Cepeks are soft, if you do a lot of city driving, they may not last long. They are pretty cool looking though.

Talking Lift

Lmk how you do with your lift kit. I had an almost 2 month wait for my
Black Diamond lift, but the wait was worth it! Much smoother highway ride,
but also stiffer on bumpy potholes.
I'll probably look at alloys next time around, my steelies are rusted so thinking
about alloys next year. I'm finding that with age, it's good to get WHAT you want when you want it!
