Just put a set of 295/70-17s on 17x9 Black Rhino wheels onto my cousin's Ram 2500. In case you're interested in these for your Jeep: They weighed in a 97 lbs (wheel + tire + weights) each and they roll pretty smooth down the road. They are 33" tall mounted on the vehicle which is equivalent to my 285/75 KO2s. They are VERY quiet...the most quiet mud tire I've ever tested. They don't grab stones and gravel and throw them everywhere which is great. They have 3 ply sidewalls and a nice rim protection flange. Overall they seem like great tires. One of them took 6.5 ounces of weight and the other three took far less.

I'm going to track his mileage and see how they wear on the highway. We'll also do some snow and mud testing this coming winter. The prices on them are excellent and they have plenty of siping for foul weather.

They appear to be a great all around tire.

I have these in 38x13.50r17. I love them. They are quiet, smooth, and ride like a street tire. In addition to this, they also do well offroad. I would say they are the perfect AT/MT hybrid. My favorite tire I have had to date on a jeep.

I have a set of 40x13.50r17 on order through discount tire currently.

have been running a set of 315's for about a year, have about 9k ish miles on them. Wear so far has been acceptable for a softer compound. For the price point one of the best off road tires I have run.

Definitely gaining in popularity... I see quite a few of them.

I've been running these in a 315/70/17 for about a month and put a little over 1000 miles on them. They are by far the quietest MT I've been around, even quieter than some ATs. I've had no issues on road, dry or wet, and they handled the one wheeling trip I've taken without issue.

The only negative in my experience was the amount of weight required to balance them. Once they were balanced, that is no longer an issue though.

I purchased through Discount Tire Direct. They are $195/tire (35") right now, but can be had for less if you catch them on sale. I'd bet you won't find a better MT for that price.

Did you have 315's or 35's on before the Milestars? Interested in ride quality on the street. My Coopers are really firm and I don't want to be in that boat again.

I can get a crazy deal on the Black Bear MT's or AT's, but these at $100 more for 5 might be worth spending just a few extra bucks if they are that quiet and ride nice.

Hey guys, I just received my 38s a few weeks ago. Sitting in my garage until i get my wheels. Im stuck trying to find a non-beadlock wheel with enough backspacing for these. Im trying not to use spacers though it looks like thats what Im gonna have to use. Dirty Life dt-1 have 3.5 backspace but arent available. Birdogs are nowwhere to be found. Im not sure if the Sota DRT or SSD are wide enough (8.5 inch) to run these tires. Anyways....To those having trouble finding these, I got mine from tires-easy.com. Around 350$ each and the shipping was free. At my house in a few days. Carlton Banks, whats the total backspacing you are using for yours? Any rubbing? Thanks

The dirty life is a nice looking wheel but extremely heavy at approximately 50 pounds.

They can be mounted on an 8.5 inch wide wheel. That's what I currently have.

I am running 3.0 backspacing. I added wheel spacers to attain that number. I have 4 inch lift and flat fenders. No rubbing for me while turning or offroading. I don't do rock crawling so it may rub for someone that needs extreme flex.

Yes sir i saw the DL wheels were heavy. The sota wheels were my 1st choice but sold out everywhere until who knows when. I ended up buying a set of wheels that have 4.5 backspacing and a set of spidertrax, so glad to hear you have no rubbing with your set up. Should all be here in a week. I also have 4 inch lift (metal cloak 3.5) and am taking off my stock fenders for the mopar high tops. I couldnt ever find a metal fender i liked and fell in love with those. I usually wheel a few times a year anywhere near the smokey mountains, but only because i have to drive from the mississippi gulf coast. Thanks for your response Carlton. I’ll try and post some pics once everything is done.

The rubber compound is pretty soft. You can squish the tread blocks with your fingers. These should work good for slickrock out west and will probably provide excellent highway traction as well, but I'll be surprised if they hold up for 50,000 miles. I expect them to wear down pretty fast. I guess that's the trade off you make for excellent traction.

Ok so I spent the morning putting my Mopar fenders on, then had the Milestars mounted. 3.5 inch metal cloak gamechanger with 38s. I wasnt sure if I would need a body lift or add an inch to the lift, but I think it will be fine for now. Next week regear and UD44 up front. Some before and afters pics with my 35s, then fenders, then 38s.

Just got some Milestar 37's last week. Took them out and was very impressed, mud, slick wet rock, they did amazing. Honestly they are super quiet on the hwy and did just amazing off-road. I've ran both 35" Nitto Trail and EXO in the past for reference, I am VERY happy with these so far.

Note to those going to 37's, you will need to trim the rear seams as they will rub in the rear at full flex. Even with proper bump-stops. Thanks to the guys at Northridge for helping me figure that one out yesterday. Ref:RockKrawler 3.5" with bushwacker flat fenders. 2015 jk

Can you guys that have the 38 x 13.5 do a "REAL" height measurement ?

I currently have the 37 x 12.5 Nitto Ridge Grapplers
Off the jeep mounted on my XD231 beadlocks measure 36.5"
Mounted on the Jeep at 30 psi measure 35.5"
Too me they look small plus a few weeks ago at AOP 2018 the Ridge Grapplers did not impress in the Rocks. Will say I was only aired down to 15psi and should have went down to 8psi but irregardless not impressed.

So Im in the debate between another set of 37s or 40's.. I want 40s but dont want to spend another round of loot to upgrade my stuff again... Have 4.88 gears and they fit the 37's nicely with no regrets ...

I don't think that it would make much difference other than if you were getting in to ice... They seem to have decent mud performance and good in the rocks.

I just bit the bullet and ordered a set. Should be in by Monday... Hard to pass the DT price with the 10% off for Black Friday. Puts them at $177 each for 35's. Yeah baby!

#38 ·
they have them at 270 so doubt they are doing come down to what DT is selling them for. I did check Discounttiredirect and they show out of stock.

#39 ·
DT retail store called Milestar direct while I was there and they had 100+ of them in their California warehouse.

Got the 315/70-17's on... Not many miles yet, but they are quiet and smooth. Feel great on the road and the freeway! Can't wait to get them in the dirt.

We're going to do Mojave Road over New Year's weekend... Fun ahead!

#46 ·
anybody have a set of 315's mounted on a stock set of jeep rims?

#47 ·
More miles today... Much better ride than the E rated tires. @jadmt you know I’m a big Ridge Grappler fan, but these are impressive for a DD mud terrain.

those look the perfect size.

They certainly match up with the Mopar +3/4" that I have... I don't think I would like them without the spacers. As is common, these 315's are actually a tiny bit narrower at the tread than the 295 ST Maxx. But the section width is definitely larger as expected.

The Coopers don't have a lot of difference between tread width and section width, but most tires do...
