I haven't owned the Nittos but man have I researched them till I'm sick of reading about then lately. They look like a real contender with the 6 PLY sidewall protection and mix of MT and AT design. The tire looks sick mounted. See below

I too am interested in these tires. Hoping others who have them will chime in & give us the details. I love my Toyo MT's but they cost 100 bones more than the Nitto's & seem to be about the same in quality & tread pattern.

Plus I'm thinking about going with the new 295/70/18's!! Pretty much a 34.5 x 11.5 tire.

I have been doing some research and I guess the same company that owns toyo owns nitto and nitto are like the crazy cousins to toyo but nitto created the trail grappler to answer to the toyo mt. I've read it has more road noise then the toyo but are still asphalt worthy. Everything I have read are positive reviews with comparable tread life to toyo mts

Hopefully by the end of next week I'll be able to report back here on how they perform on the road. I just bought a full set (spare included) of 275/65/18 TrailGrapplers and mounting them on the factory wheels.
If I think of it I'll post a few pics on here when I get it back.

they look great! any clue on the wheel size..17 or 18's. I'm guessing 18's as they look like the factory wheels I have on my 2008 Sahara.

I do not have the trail grapplers, but I do run the mud grapplers, 35x14.5x16. They is more road noise. These are a 10 ply. They seem to wear good. I have had them about a year and it is my daily driver.

Awesome. A few trucks in the parking lot here at work have Nittos on them and everybody says they love 'em. I'm a Michelin person..had them on two Explorers and this is my first Jeep so I wanted something with a bit more teeth than Michelin offered. I'm just hoping that I'll have enough clearance on the factory wheels.
According to the Nittos size chart, they should fit properly and I won't need to use any backspacers or such.

Where are these tires made? Is that really a six-ply sidewall or a three ply? Thanks.

That's good to hear that they're made in the U.S.A. and have three plies. I'm going to do some more research on this tire. I live in AZ where the ground is hard and there a lot of sharp rocks. I was looking at the BFG KM2's, but they are rather expensive. I have a set of BFG AT's that isn't wearing to well. I've kept up with the rotations and alignment, but they are wearing out fast. I've owned three sets previously on a Nissan truck that lasted about 45k. My TJ is my DD, and I need some tires that will do well on and offroad. Thanks for posting the info on the Nitto tires. I'm going to read the Discount Tire post on the Nitto tires. Have a good one!

I have been running Nittos on my work trucks for several years now. I have been through 2 sets of terra grapplers, and on my first set of trail grapplers. The nitto is a great tire, right now I have the 295x70-17 on my 2008 quad cab dodge 2500 diesel 4x4. The tires have roughly 45000 miles on them, rotated one time. My tires take a lot of abuse, my employees put 13000 miles on my truck from Sept. 9 to Dec. 9 pulling peanut wagons. We routinely pulled 10 tons from the bumper with no tounge weight. This is murder on tires, and these are holding up well.
