Patching A Tire On The Trail

Looking for advice on method and tools used to remove a tire from the wheel and install a patch on the trail. I have a plug kit and I know how to use that. Looking for a way to install a patch.

Can I use my Hi Lift to squeeze the tire and pop the bead loose?
What can I use to remove the tire and re install it on the wheel?
Starter fluid to seat the bead is easy.

I punctured 2 sidewalls today on my new BFG KO2's. Swapped one out with a spare and used fix a flat to slow the leak in the other adding air to the tire every 20 minutes to limp it off the trail.

I've installed lots of patches just never on the trail

Big ass pry bars or I think someone makes a tire change kit but I use my biggest pry bars when I mount tires at home
