Sota SSD Wheels

So I've decide on the Sota SSD 17 X 8.5 but I need some help with the offset. It either comes in 6 or -32, how far past the fenders would the -32 extend?

OK, so on an 8.5" wide wheel
-32 = 3.49" Backspace
6 = 4.99" Backspace.

-32 will fit without rubbing the frame or sway bar and will stick out pretty far from the fender. Some air dam trimming may be necessary.

6 will rub and will stick out just slightly from the fender. You can put in some washers to limit the steering, that will solve the rubbing but decrease your turning radius.

For a visual aid here is our old '16 with a 35x12.5x17 and 4.5" of backspace.

I have run 2 sets of rims on two different jeeps that have had 5.2" backspacing with Toyo 35/12.5's and no issues with rubbing at least that made any negative impact. Those are great looking rims. I have not heard of Sota rims before I will have to look them up.

Really? My 12.5" wide rubbed on 5"BS pretty bad, wonder what the difference was?

SOTA used to be BMF, we've had them on our '14 for several years now.

I'm going to install the AEV 3.5 on my 2 door recon and would like the tires to stick out a little past the fenders. How far past would you guess it would be?

not sure as used them with 4 different lifts on 2 different jeeps a 2.5 and 3.5 RK lift on a 14 4 door and with a 2.5 and 3.5 AEV lift on a 2 door. Maybe I did not wheel hard enough or was just lucky. I have done the dusy, rubicon, most of the hard trails at Moab sans BFE. So not sure why I would not rub.

That's a nice looking wheel, it appears you can also get some optional rings for them, just wish they didn't say SOTA on them
