Speed rating

I've been curious about this ever since coming to WF, and to my knowledge of all the tire/wheel threads I've skimmed through have I seen anyone mention it, good or bad.

Since I have the stock base line JKU, I ended up with the 225/65/16 street tires that I'm growing more tired of each time I look at them in the driveway. I plan on going to 285/70/17 (either KO2 or DT) here very soon, probably within the next few weeks. My question is do you guys just throw caution to the wind and not pay it any mind? Looking at a speed rating chart, I doubt I'll ever have my JKU up to 112 MPH to warrant the S rated street tires, or the R rated KO2's at 108 MPH for that matter. Breaking 100 MPH in a Wrangler seems to be a joke anyway and I'm fine with that. I wanted one for utility and fun, not going fast.

TL;DR Is Speed Rating on a Wrangler even important enough to worry about?
