From what I hear swampers don't do well on roads for wear. Also they make some radials but most are bias ply and will not only beat you to death but not hadle well as well. If its a off road only rig then go for it. Good to try out as many tires as you can.

If its a DD I wouldn't bother with swampers. MT's are alright on the road, I run the mt/r kevlar and they have good road manners and are great offroad.

Swampers suck on a dd. Check out Toyo Open Countrys M/T's.... Aggressive of road, great on pavement..... Some guys are getting 60k miles.....and they'r surprisingly quiet..... I love mine!!!

I really don't think anything else compares! Without a doubt, they're the best tire I've ever owned.....I'm so impressed with them !

Ohh I dunno bout that....how many sets have you run? Were they new? What style?

I have had over 30 sets in my years and they dont wear any worse than anything else unless you dont take care of them. I have a buddy who got 48K out of a set of 35 boggers on his YJ. I have 44 boggers on my white truck that I drove all through college and they are wearing just fine

Now that being said....they arent gonna drive like a michelin but no real offroad tire does.

I ran 2 sets from new(TSL's) and both set cupped so bad I had to have'm trued....and that left most of the remaining tread on the floor. Constantly check the air, rotated them ...... They're great off road, but I'd never run'em on a dd again.

Maybe those do, Im not a standard TSL guy. I do know the radial TSLs will go almost 40K on an excursion though.

Damn.

So I bought my Jeep with 33" TSL Swampers and use this as MY dd. How long til the tread wears out?

And tell me some less expensive tires for all-terrain or that do well on the road while tearing up trails.
