Tire Pressure Monitor

do I have to install the TPMS sensors on my new wheels?
will it set a code? this is on a 12 JKU

I don't know if the 2012's are any different, but on my '09, I got rid of my TPMS sensors along with my stock wheels/tires. I use the Superchips Flashpaq to turn off TPMS so I don't get the ding and light. There are other programmers out there, some less expensive, that will do the same thing.
