Tire Siping on my JKU Rubi

Well after a few weeks of winter weather driving here in Minnesota, I decided to have Discount Tire Sipe my stock BFG Rubicon tires. I found the lack of siping on the mud terrains to be less then confidence inspiring on our cold frozen roads here in MN.

First impressions are good, noise hasn't really increased from what i can tell. Traction seems to have improved but slicker road conditions will really tell me if my money was well spent or not. $50 out the door for all 5 tires, plus the rotated them for me.

I will report back once I get more miles on the tires. Anyone else have siping done on their tires?

I've heard the stockers kinda suck in the slippery stuff. It'll be interesting to see how they fare siped.

$50 sounds like a great price; iirc, the last couple threads I read, folks were saying it'd be around $100. 'Course, now that I think about it, that coulda been in some southern state that sees snow once every 5 years.

Small cuts in the tire tread to help with traction. Here's a better explanation...

Almost forgot...if you ever look closely at a new Goodyear DuraTrac, you'll see the cuts. They're siped.
