Tires on stock wheels

ok, I've been reading a lot and I guess I'm confused. I have 255/75 17 on mine now (stock rubi). Was thanking about going to 33. My vehicle is stock for now I do off road on some level 1-3, I hear about back spacing. I am new to the jeep and off road world. I appreciate any advice. Just need to get through winter, and hopefully get a lift and new wheels next year.

Backspacing just puts the wheel out further so it will fit. It's not the height so much, it's the width. Stock wheels are 6 something. You want 4.5.
Spacers are an option but for the price another couple hundred bucks you can buy a nice set of 15's.
Your better off in the long run that way.
Save and buy all at once IMO.
