Treadwright Tires

I thought I would post my incredible experience with Treadwright Tires. On Jan 3rd I placed an order with Treadwright for some 31 x 10.5 Guard Dogs. I did tons of research all over the internet, most of the reviews from here and the Jeep Forum. After sitting and thinking hard for 3 weeks, I placed my order. I asked the customer service girl (who was very nice) for 4 matching Goodyear MT/R casings. She told me that the wait was going to be 2 - 3 weeks for 31's, but most likely more for the MT/R casings. I paid the 460.00 (shipping to Irmo, SC) on the day I ordered and ordered my Cragar Soft 8's the same day. I checked my email yesterday and had noticed that I had a Fedex email, and it stated that my tires had been sent out for delivery on Mon Jan 10th at 8am. For those of you who are a bit skepitical, their customer service is incredible and that in it's self makes it worth it.

We have Treawright Tires on both Jeeps. Good luck with both sets. On the 64 CJ-5 we have the Treadwright 31X10.50X15 Crawler MT tires. On the 01 TJ Sport we have 31X10.50X15 Guard Dog's. The only problem we have had was a rock through the side wall and that would have happened to any tire. The folks at Treadwright are really good to work with.

i was checking out the treadwright site and was curious about the tires being retreads, is that an issue at all? also i was thinking about ordering a pair myself, can you post pictures of what yours look like on your jeep. i was going to look into duratracs in the 31x10.5x15 but wasnt excited with the 170ish price tag per tire. i was told that 31x10.5x15 wont be an issue fitting on my TJ stock (aside from maybe a little rubbing when i turn the wheen all the way) thanks

The 31's will fit your stock rim just fine. I've had 31" Bridgestone Duelers for about a year now, no rubbing until a full turn, and even that isn't bad. I will post my pics when they get mounted after the weekend. They were very nice people to deal with.
As far as an issue with retreads, I have no experiance with them at all. I searched and searched and the only negative info I could find, were people who talk about these tires in a negative way, but have never experianced any negative effects. Do your homework and do whats best for you. I was looking at the Duratracs, then the walmart brand Authorities and settled for the Treadwrights instead.

Here they are, ordered and shipped in 7 days. I checked them out, no scratches, nicks or scuff marks. One tire has a small patch on the inside, but I don't see it as a problem. Here are some pics.

That is the same Treadwright tire I had put on my TJ (when I had it) They will really give your TJ a different look. And by different, I mean better.

Here was mine.

31" tires/no lift

31" tires/2-1/2" RC lift

Tires were great. Howled nicely. Rotate every 3000 miles and they will wear great.

Got them on today. Took a bit of weight to balance them. The least amount was 2.5oz on one side alone, the most was 5.5oz on one side alone. My suggestion is to take them to a local Commercial Truck Tire shop. They will have a better idea on how to balance them out and do it very well. I am very pleased. $460.00 to the door, and $210.00 for the rims.
