ugly chrome


i have Ugly Pollished alluminum wheels

i want them to be flat black

what do i gotta do to not mess them up and paint them flat black ( what kinda paint ) do i gotta blast it ? (dont know how to do that )

just want black wheels

I'd have them powder coated. The finish is stronger then paint and more resistant to damage.

If you are looking for more DIY information on just painting them I'm sure someone will chime in. I've seen people paint their wheels with rhino lining type paint or regular spray paint. It can look pretty good if you take your time with it. I haven't done a set myself but from what I read it all about prepping your wheels before you paint.

i can probably buy new wheels for 20% more then powder coating is the onlly problem i have with taht route

If your wheels are polished and not chrome, you can paint them yourself very easily. All you need to do is sand them and use a self etching primer and then paint away.
