Unlimited soft top question

So I bought my first jeep 2 days ago and while I'm loving the vehicle, the soft top has been an absolute pain in the ass so far... It doesn't seem to fold down all the way as it appears it is supposed to in every YouTube video I watch of it. A couple of questions: is this normal? Are the tops generally difficult to operate or am I just an idiot? Lol and also, for anyone familiar with Jeep's CPO program, do you know if the soft top is covered as a part that an be replaced in the 3 month/3,000 mile warranty the says it covers approximately 5,000 parts?

Welcome to the forum, and the addiction

Folding the soft tops takes practice... Give your self time and you'll figure it out. Watch the vids and observe the Z shapes they make with it, and the way they tuck it all in as it comes down.

I can't help with the warranty ?, but what kind of problems are you having with your top that you feel it may need to be replaced?

Thanks! I am continuing to practice, i think getting it to fold in the z-shape you're talking about is the most difficult part for sure. As for the warranty, maybe the top doesn't need the replaced, that was more my frustration with not being able to figure it out quickly and assuming that it's the jeeps fault and not mine haha.

Thank you for the tip though and I'll continue to work with it. Overall I am a extremely excited to be an official member of the jeep community! Even got my first jeep wave today

There's tons of videos on Youtube for dealing with the unlimited soft top, but I found that most of them skipped steps and made it look deceivingly easy. It's easier once you get it right and can remember how.

soft top Videos like that (from thejeepchannel) helped me to figure out how the fabric should lay at each step, and some of it is just playing around with it for a minute until you find the right way. I spent 20 minutes doing it wrong and getting aggravated the first day I had mine. My thinking was, "my best friend has a TJ, I know how to take a **** top off!!!"

Good luck, hope that helps.
