What tire for me?

Hello all, here's some back story. Tj 4.0 manual, live in pa. Getting all my parts together, I am in search for 33s, and I guess x12.5? More importantly, which tire is for me? I drive on the road weekdays, wheel on the weekends. In from PA so I need a good snow worthy tire, but would like it to handle some mud and trails at roushe creek. I'm not tooooo worried about noise either. Thank you all very much

Also what rim size, are some cheaper than others for replacement tires?

For 33's a 15" wheel will have the cheapest options. Look for around 4" Backspace.

Tires... Goodyear Duratracs or BFG KO2s.

try this...
Tire Size Converter

plug in 33x12.50x15 and it gives 36 choices.

There is no "silver bullet" tire - there are compromises everywhere.

My vote is the Duratrac

33x12.50 on 15" rims

I love my Cooper Discoverer S/T's, I've been running them for 140k miles. I'm on my third set of 285/75R16s (33 x 11.5), got 60k+ out of the first two sets.

That moment when you look at a really nice JK and think to yourself, "Well I SUPPOSE I could see myself trading in my TJ for one of those, but for those ugly ass door handles."

I have the KO2's, but I vote Toyo AT2's (previously owned them). Much better tire in terms of noise level, and looks.

I'm another vote for Duratracs. Good offroad, well behaved on, amazing snow and ice.

So you say they are no good in the snow? To bad. I was looking at these to replace my Duratracs. After ripping two side walls I need more strength in that area and I making the move from 33/12.5 R15 to 35/12.5 R17.

Goodyear DTs or BFG KO2s are both good choices for the mix of DD weekdays, Trails weekends but for winter honestly get an inexpensive "winter" grip. Save those expensive DTs or KOs for the other 3 seasons.
