Wheel advice

This has probably been asked a hundred times but didn't come up with much from the search. My Jeep currently has 315-75-16's and the wheels are 16x8.5". It appears a lot of people are running 17" wheels (or larger) these days, including a buddy of mine. I'm kind of old school and like the look of the 16" wheel with a little more side wall on the tire. Is there any advantage or disadvantage on the trail, or even the road, with running a 16' wheel versus a 17" wheel? I'm new to the Jeep world and will need to replace the tires sooner rather than later, so just trying to figure out if I need or should change wheels at that point as well. I would personally rather keep the 16's that are on it and spend that money on something else on the "wish list".

A 17" wheel on a JK will allow you to run big brake kits and larger aftermarket tie rod. Most brands require a minimum 17" and some even require an 18".

Good luck!

I didn't think of either of those. Thanks for the info, much appreciated.
