Wheel Question

I recently obtained a very low mileage '09 Sahara Unlimited. Stock wheels are 18", tires are 255-70/18.
What is required to go to a 16" wheel besides buying the wheels??

Is there some advantage of 18" over the 16 or 17's?

Thanks for any info..

Your going to have to permanently disable the ESP/ABS and other wheel end sensors thats for sure. The larger the wheel the less advantage actually, with the larger wheels you have less sidewall which means a stiffer ride. Just look at what happens to ride quality when people put 20" rims on a car. Also you will be paying alot more for tires, the only "advantage" I can see (in the eye of the beholder) is looks. I'd go with 15's myself.

No problem, just make sure they're same bolt pattern (5x5) and clear the "HUB" shoulder-

The advantage to 16" tires, is cheaper tire choices and if you're not rock crawling--no other advantage-18" tires cost a lot more for the same size, but

If you consider the cost of new wheels to go from 18" to 16'--it's kind of a wash !!

Good luck
