wheel/tire offset

I have a 2004 wrangler columbia edition that has stock wheels and 31x10.5x15 tires on them. They were on it when I bought it. I would like to widen the stance to where the outside of the tire is at or slightly beyond the stock flare. Not necessarily wanting to lift it. Should I purchase wider wheels and/or wheels with a different offset. All advice would be greatly appreciated. Tires still have about 3/4 life left fyi...

wheels with different backspacing. here's Dick Cepek DC2 wheels, they have 3-5/8 backspacing with 31x10.50x15 tires, no lift. if you went with these wheels, when you do decide to go with larger tires they'll fit nicely with-out rubbing anything. I've got the same wheels

Go with an 8" wheel, especially for a 10.5" tire. Although you can fit a 12.5" tire with that bs on an 8" wheel.

I bought the dc-2 rims for my moderate build have gotten a lot of compliments best purchase for the money. I am running Bfg at 33/12.50-15 on an 8" rim great look. Saved my yj from the boneyard.
