Got a set (4) of Kumho's on the way right now from Discount Tire Direct. No discount without the 5th tire, but free shipping and getting around state taxes is more than enough discount for me.

what set up (as far as rim size goes) is most economical? Should one stay with 15 inch rims or are prices the same or better for tires with a bigger rim?

Thanks guys, I wanted you to know that I had always purchased my tires from Tirerack.com, but I saw the post here and looked to see if a tire I needed for my other truck was cheaper. IT was!!! So I ordered from discount tire. I found my 305/40/22 for $160 shipped. Thanks guys!

Yes stay with the 15". Dependent on what you are going for you may need/want to change out the rims to adjust backspacing

I'd really depends on what you are trying to do now and in the future.

If you like your stock wheels and just want to run a slightly larger tire you can do so but your stock wheels do limit how wide and tall of a tire you should safely run.

If you want to go with a 33-35" tire with some new wheels, 15" and 16" wheel and tire packages are less expensive than 17", 18" or larger wheel and tire packages. Later when you need to replace your tires, again, 15 and 16" tires will be cheaper. Tires options are limited in these sizes but if what you want is available, your good to go.

If you are planning on running 35" or larger tires or you just want a larger variety of tires to choose from, tires for 17" wheels do seem to have the most options right now. There are also quite a few 17" wheels to choose from.

I've ordered mine from Rusty's Off road. com. Felt I got a good deal,
Tires for 15" rims are cheaper and offer better ride cause you have more side wall. Allows you to air down without hitting your rims, as with the lower profile tires.

Tire and wheel packages purchased through our mail order division are mounted, balanced, and shipped for FREE . We also have new TPMS sensors available for purchase and can install them in the wheels prior to mounting the tires.

I always buy from a local tire shop which does the full mount/balance/install and most offer free rotation and swapping winters for summers if you bought there. And I like to support the local business. Shop for price but also consider the service.

Most local shops will also store your off season tires. Nice if you rent an apartment.
