Wild Country MTX vs Goodyear Wrangler Dura-trac

I'm having a bit of trouble deciding on a good set of tires for my 91 wrangler 2.5 w/ ax5 the jeeps mostly stock with some 1" lift shackles. And that's about it tho. Here's my delimma with the decision. I've got about 800 to put towards a good set of tires that'll suit me on and offroad. I'll be getting 31x1050x15 size tires and they will be going on an ultra motorsport 15x8 rim with 3.75 backspacing.

The wild country mtx is a descent agressive mud tire with a lot of all terrain features included between the large lugs. And I've got a friend that has them on his 95 wrangler. Same set up as mine and they have worked really well in mud, rain, snow, rocks, even some gravel on a steep incline. And they have worm alright minus his inability to find the time to rotate the tires... and they hum like a banshee from hell which is fine with me. It's that good kind of hum that means you can go just about anywhere lol. And I can get a set of 4 for about 670.

And in the case of the Goodyear wrangler dura-tracs they have gotten some fantastic reviews all over the Web and from the reviews they do great in just about all weather conditions mud rain snow ice rock nasty slush. And that crap barely phases these tires... they are about 770 for 4.

I'm really just trying make a decision cause my jeep is about ready to be road worthy and I desperately need to replace the worn and dry rotted 30x950x15 Michelin that look like they are about to fall off the rims...

Any recommendations or words of wisdom for the newb jeeper?

I have the wild country in 32 12.5 15. They were on there when i bought my jeep (01 tj sport). They looked brand new. I have put about 5k miles on them. Great in rain. Mine are super quiet. Never had them off road yet. Not sure i want to. The tread doesn't look very aggressive compared to what i see on my friends' jeeps.

crasa21 thanks for the input i believe im just going to go with the wild country mtx's just for the simple fact that they have great streetability and they arent as agressive as a dedicated mud tire but will get the job done in a heart beat! in all weather conditions!

I personally think you can't go wrong with them. Mine are amazing on the road. Unfortunately for me, i don't plan on keeping it on the road much. Lol.

Well I didn't go the way of either of those tires... I got a really good deal on a set of the treadwright guard dogs in the flavor of 31x10.50x15 and they are a new style of retread tire. It's basically a new tire on the sidewalls and the tread area. As a plus in the old style Goodyear mtr design. So they will make a good tire for me and at 130 apiece shipped to my door I can't beat that!
