Will 15" wheels fit my 2012 JK?

I was set to go w/ Duratrac 33x12.5x15, with 15x8 wheels (brand yet to be determined) when I was informed that some 15" wheels wouldn't fit my Jeep w/out grinding the calipers being required, while some may fit fine.

Can someone confirm? Is there a safe list of 15" wheels that I can install without issue?

thanks

The first step is admitting you have a problem. I look forward to you telling us more in next week's meeting of Jeepers Anonymous.

This is my first Jeep and I've only had it for about a month so obviously I'm in the same boat.

I was planning on buying an older Jeep, but like any vehicle you're not familiar with, buying old is scary. I was then planning on an '11 but after I found out about the engine upgrade in the '12 I couldn't resist. And this was my first (even close to) new vehicle so I figured "what the heck, why not?".

Ok, spoke w/ Earl (ext 51880) at DTD. According to him, the 15" MB 72s will fit a 2012 w/out interference from the brake caliper.

Be aware that the only availbe BS would be 3.25". He also stated that they are only showing 1 in stock right now as since the manufacturer is closed today, he won't be able to find out the availability until Monday. He says we can still get the Black Friday discount if we order Monday.

So give Earl a call on Monday and he'll hook you up.

I have been doing the same research as you. The problem I see with 15 is even if the clear the caliper getting in the muck would cause some plugging up back there with mud. Also you gain free "lift" with a taller wheel/ tire combo. Lastly the 15's look old school tiny in this day of factory 18 and 20's

You can only gain lift in so much as you can fit the tire. i'm going 33 which is best I can fit w/ a simple leveling kit. Good point on the plugging, haven't seen that brought up yet.

And I'm going w/ 15s because 15" wheels and tires cost less.
