Question 2012 130 Head Unit vs 2017

I have the Kicker 77kick10's I installed about 3 years ago on my 2012. Very much improvement in the dash area, but very anemic from the sound bar. Even if I adjust the fade to the sound bar, I lose almost all of the base, treble - overall sound quality. They simply sound like crap.

My wife who just got her 2017, with the same head unit, seems to have a more "equally distributed" sound when the fade is neutral. I don't recall mine ever sounding that good in stock form. My system seems to favor the dash speakers.

I recall when I installed them, others said don't even bother with the sound bar because they don't really make a difference. But I have a feeling this may not be the case if I were to install a set of 4 of these into her's.

Anyone have a clue if/what the difference between the 130 from a 2012 to a 2017?

No idea the difference, but I noticed a difference from going the sound bar.

2012 should have 2 speakers in the sound bar where the 2017 should have 4.

Ah, I haven't opened anything up in the 2017, but I did notice the exterior design difference.

But, to me it still doesn't explain the discrepancy in sound difference with the Kickers, assuming that it's a 50/50 split of what power/watts the 130 sends to the front and rear.
