2012 Shipped with Mismatched Fenders!

This is a repost from both jalopnik (where I first saw it) and the original thread at Jeeps Unlimited. A black 2012 Sahara shipped with one correct body-color fender and one incorrect black plastic fender.

I hope no one else who's waiting for a 2012 has this happen. What a fail.

Jeeps Unlimited
got my new 2012 sahara - JeepsUnlimited.com Forums

Jalopnik (for a bit of humor - same info though)
How did this Jeep leave the factory with the wrong parts?

What a fail! If I were that guy I would ask Chrysler for few free tanks of gas or something.

With all due respect he is complaing that Jeep made an error yet he took delivery without noticing? Mistakes are made the dealer should rectify the situation but thats it in my opinion.

+1. If he had caught the problem before taking delivery what would he expect from them? He checked it over too. At least he should have.

Wow.
The owner doesn't get paid to QC vehicles. Unfortunately, lazy, drunk stoned union workers get overpaid to do it. The bailout was temporary. GM and Chrysler are goners.

Owner sounds like a complete tool. He's complaining terribly about the misses, yet defends his own actions like it was so easy to do. One or the other buddy...either it was easy to miss, and thats the end of it, or it wasn't and you're part of the problem. Pick one.

Personally, no way in hell I'd miss something like that...

"I've got to waste a day... ...they should give me..."

I can hear the whining. BFD. Share a laugh, get the right fenders, and move along. Life is short, people around the word are dying from hunger, wars and thirst- and you got a new Jeep with a fender f-up.

I don't know about you but for me........not doing a "walk-around" inspection on any vehicle (especially a rental ) is not such a good idea. Everyone up and down the 'food' chain should have caught this.....BUT.....ka-ka still happens !

I don't know about you, but when I bought my Wrangler, I had to do a walk-around with the salesperson and had to get in writing any damages (minor hail damage to hood, didn't care to get it fixed=$250 off price) and then signed I was taking the vehicle as-is and anything wrong I noticed was to be considered my fault, unless something I couldn't see like engine problems or brakes etc. He should have looked, his problem.
