2014 jku aftermarket remote start

I am wanting to install a 2-way remote start on my jeep. I want a 2 way remote for sure, so a factory kit is out. And i would like one that has a decent range. I've had remote starts in previous vehicles, all 1-way remotes with only about 200-300' range and it wasn't long enough to use at work.

I'm only interested in the remote start function, and do not have a need for an alarm feature. I do have the power convenience group so I already have the factory key with the door lock buttons on it. So a small remote start fob would be nice.

I found a nice kit made by viper and it has a small remote and just the remote start function. Is this a complete kit or would something else be needed to make it work in my jeep? Or is there another remote start kit out there that might work better? Or another brand or model that might be easier to install with similar features? I am open to suggestions.

Viper Responder One 4211V 2-Way Remote Start w/ Bypass Module

Thanks for the help,

Tim: I am in a similar position wanting to install a two way remote start for my 2014 JKU. Have you found and installed one yet? I'm looking for one with extended range. I installed a Fortin one way plug and play unit myself, but I am very disappointed with the range on my factory key remote.

Let me know what direction you went on this issue. I'm anxious to hear back...

i'm interested in adding one on my 2014 as well. There was a factory option for remote start interested if anyone has had any luck with that.

Avital and Viper look to be the best options out there and will ultimately be what I end up doing. I'm not too impressed by the factory remote starts range and lack of confirmation.

The link you posted looks to be the full kit necessary for installation. Searching "remote Start" on amazon would be a good start to finding the best one since there are hundred of reviews on several different ones.

EDIT: Found this thread. Seems to be an easy installation and people are pretty happy with it. https://www.wranglerforum.com/f274/ju...ks-484338.html
About 100$ on amazon. Make sure you purchase it from the "Car Alarm Depot" seller because they will pre-program it for you.
