2015 JK electronically whacked

Less than 1100 miles.

Driven lightly by this lady driver. Garage-kept, never wet.

So I'm driving home and notice the volume control buttons on the steering wheel quit working. Park it in garage, thinking maybe it's just a fuse. Investigate all the possible fuse options and everything looks good. Google a little further and find others who have this issue, but also mention blinkers, wipers and lights not working. I go out and check, sure enough, no blinkers, lights or wipers working.

I wait a few days to be sure I have a sunny light-traffic day to drive it to dealer. Go out to try to start it, and ... dead. So I figure maybe battery dead if I left a console light on or something. Put battery charger on and it says "charged" in just a few minutes, so maybe battery wasn't dead.

Try to start, and all the lights on the dashboard blink for a few seconds, wipers start up - but I made sure the wiper switch was "off" - wipers still going. I turn off and pull key out. Wipers still going, with a grinding noise. They continue for a few minutes then stop.

So - warranty here we come.

Anyone else have electronic issues with a 2015 Wrangler?

Sounds like a possible bad clockspring. It's been known to happen and should be fully covered under warranty.

I disagree. The clock spring would disable buttons but you'd also have no horn and airbag warnings. This is likely something with the fuse box/TIPM.

Yep - drove the thing off the dealer showroom floor in late June, spotless and tight under the hood.

Spotless and tight RECENTLY, or in JUNE when it came off the showroom?
Just saying...
The ground is tight as well?

This has happened over the last few years with some JK's. There have been a few different repairs that seem to take care of it from making sure that the battery connections are tight, to a bad ground in the steering column, or the TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module) itself. The clock spring does have to be ruled out because the ground issue could be there. The dealer will be able to take care of it. Good luck with your new JK. Even if you left any lights on they would automatically turn off in approx. 15 minutes.

Sorry if unclear. They were very clean and very tight as of 2 days ago.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully fixed soon so I can get the last few nice Fall days of topless driving!
